Arsenal handed massive injury boost with Aaron Ramsey set to play again before Juventus exit

Aaron Ramsey could yet play for Arsenal again despite suffering a hamstring injury against Napoli last night that threatened to end his Gunners' career prematurely.

Ramsey suffered a hamstring injury in Arsenal's 1-0 win at Napoli on Thursday night, leading to fears he may not play again before joining Juventus on a free transfer at the end of the season.

However Arsenal head coach Unai Emery hopes that Ramsey could be back within three weeks, a timescale that could potentially allow the Welsh midfielder to feature in the second leg of the Europa League semi-final against Valencia as well as the Gunners' final league game against Burnley on May 12.

Emery's European blueprint comes to life, Ramsey going out on a high - Arsenal talking points

"The last matches, his performances have been amazing and helping us a lot in the key moments this season," Emery said. "His injury is also bad news and I don't know how long it will take him out of the team, but maybe two or three weeks.

"My focus today is on the match on Sunday, we are going to play the semi-final and I was speaking to him about 30 minutes ago and we were speaking about that, 'maybe in two or three weeks, I can play some matches'. We are going to wait for that."

Ramsey had struggled to establish himself in Emery's side early in the season, leading to doubts from the manager that would ultimately see Arsenal withdraw the offer of a new contract that was close to being agreed.

However in the weeks since he announced he would be moving to Juventus Ramsey has been in exceptional form, scoring crucial goals against Tottenham, Newcastle and Napoli.

Arsenal player ratings vs Napoli: Lacazette exceptional, Maitland-Niles superb, Torreira quiet

"His process this season was amazing, in the beginning a little confused because it was the last year of his contract with the club," said Emery.

"For us, and for me, he is a very important player but his confusion maybe did not give us some moments in the season, the performances like he is doing now."
