Arsenal have had a tough time with injuries at the start of the 2020/21 season but have been dealt with major boosts ahead of their Premier League and Carabao Cup trips to Liverpool.
Kieran Tierney missed the Gunners' last two matches against Leicester City and West Ham after withdrawing from the matchday squad in the latter due to a slight groin problem but is back in full training.
"Tight left groin before West Ham United (h) on Saturday, September 19. Now back in full training." read a statement on the official club website.
Injured when Mikel Arteta first arrived at the club, Tierney had to wait until after the restart before truly showing the Spaniard what he could offer.
Since then, he has gone on to impress massively. With Arteta deploying a three at the back system, the Scot has been useful in his more natural wing-back role but has also provided the manager with a much-needed left-footed option in the back three, playing as a left-sided centre-back.
Although Gabriel Magalhaes' arrival has eased the pressure on that role, Tierney being able to resume the role will come as very welcome news.
Following on from the positive update on Tierney, Arsenal also gave an update on the status of Emile Smith Rowe.
The midfielder is expected to remain with the first team this season after an impressive loan spell at Huddersfield Town last year, but had his campaign stalled by a shoulder injury sustained before the opening day of the season.
It was confirmed by the club that he was wearing a protective sling but he no longer has to and is aiming to return to full training within the next week.
"Sustained an injury to his right shoulder in training. Now out of protective sling and aiming to return to full training within the next week." the statement on the club website added.
Before the season began, Sokratis also suffered a setback with a right calf strain, but is now expected to return to full training in the coming days too.
Furthermore, Pablo Mari is continuing his recovery from the ankle injury sustained at Manchester City in June. He is expected to return to full training in the next two weeks.
Shkodran Mustafi, who has been linked with moves away from the club recently, is also due to return from his hamstring injury in October.
"Successful small procedure completed soon after injury. Continuing outside running and strengthening programme, together with light ball work. Aiming to return to full training in October." the statement concluded.
