Arsenal handed Houssem Aouar transfer boost as Thomas Partey interest has Atletico concerned

Here is your Arsenal morning digest for Tuesday, September 1.

Arsenal handed huge Houssem Aouar transfer update

Arsenal supporters have been reacting to claims that Houssem Aouar wants to join a Premier League club this summer.

Whilst Atletico Madrid's Thomas Partey is seen as the perfect player to add some dynamism to Mikel Arteta's side, the Gunners are in need of at least one creative midfielder, and the Lyon ace fits the bill.

But it's not just the north London outfit who have been linked with a move for Aouar, with Man City and Juventus both being touted as possible destinations for the midfielder.

Mkhitaryan departs

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has joined Roma on a permanent basis after spending the 2019/20 campaign on loan there, Arsenal have confirmed.

Mkhitaryan joined the Gunners in a swap deal from Manchester United involving Alexis Sanchez in January 2018 and had one full season with the Gunners in 2018/19.

The Armenian midfielder has had his contract at the Emirates terminated by mutual consent, allowing him to join the Serie A side on a free transfer.

Partey update

According to Marca, Arsenal's interest in Thomas Partey has Atletico Madrid 'concerned'.

The Gunners have their targets set on the holding midfielder whose release clause is set at £45m.

And while they haven't made any serious progress on the deal just yet, reports in Spain say Atletico are concerned about losing Partey this summer.
