Bernd Leno said Arsenal's players felt they had "nothing to lose" at half time in the game with Aston Villa yesterday (Sunday).
The Gunners found themselves 1-0 behind and down to ten men at the Emirates Stadium, after John McGinn opened the scoring for Villa before Ainsley Maitland-Niles was sent off for a second bookable offence.
Arsenal turned the tables in the second half, with Nicolas Pepe, Calum Chambers and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on target as the Gunners claimed what he described as a deserved 3-2 win.
But the Arsenal goalkeeper said the players had a message for each other in the dressing room at half time as they looked to regroup and try to turn things around in the second half.
"I think the win showed a lot of quality in our mind. In the dressing room we spoke at half time, we had nothing to lose," he said, speaking in an interview with BBC programme Match of the Day 2.
"We were already 1-0 down and with one less player, and now we can fight, and win this game, and the team showed a very good response.
“At the end we had so many good chances to score, and the win was well deserved.”
Meanwhile, Leno was full of praise for team-mate Aubameyang after scoring what proved to be the match-winner, with the German goalkeeper adding that he had the "perfect view" of the striker's free kick.
"From behind I could see the shot, it's very difficult for the goalkeeper because he didn't see the ball and it was a fantastic goal," he said.
"He's unbelievable and the goal was also unbelievable. I think he's very important for us because he is scoring almost every week, and getting important goals for us too."
