Arsenal have been given a huge fixture update amid their hopes of beating Manchester City to the Premier League title. The Gunners have just nine matches left to play while Pep Guardiola's side have a game in hand over their rivals with under two months remaining of the 2022/23 season.
By the end of April though, City will instead have two games in hand on their title rivals as their FA Cup semi-final against Sheffield United takes priority and is set for April 22. Over that weekend, Arsenal take on Southampton at Emirates Stadium and therefore could, if both teams win all their games up to their meeting at Etihad Stadium four days later, hold an 11-point lead at the top.
Of course this is just a hypothetical scenario, but, with an extra Premier League game to play over City before their clash, Arsenal can assert themselves further at the summit and secure some needed breathing room from the reigning champions.

With the season reaching its final stages, the TV picks have been announced for the weekend fixtures across May 13-14. In that match week, City travel to Goodison Park to face Everton while Arsenal play host to Brighton and given their expected importance to the final standings, both have been selected for TV coverage.
Man City taking on Everton fills the 2pm kick off slot on Sunday, while the Gunners' clash against Brighton is to be contested right after with scheduled kick off time of 4:30pm. There is no absolute guarantee however, that those two fixtures form the run-down for Sky Sports' Super Sunday on May 14 as City could still be in the Champions League.
The Premier League's announcement for City's game includes an asterisk which states: "subject to Man City's UEFA Champions League participation the next Tuesday." While Arsenal's focus is purely on the Premier League, City remain in European and domestic cup action.
Bypassing Bayern Munich in the quarter-final would see City fill one of the spots in the last four and thus their Sunday fixture would likely move. The Blue side of Manchester are not unfamiliar with fixture congestion issues as the season reaches its climax, but with a re-arranged fixture against Brighton still needing a confirmed date, more problems could be coming the way of Guardiola and his players.
