Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn insists that his side have not given up hope of agreeing a new contract with Ryan Fraser amid interest from Arsenal in the winger.
As football.london reported earlier this month, Fraser is emerging as a serious target for Arsenal as Unai Emery targets attacking reinforcements out wide.
The Cherries failed to agree an extension with Fraser, whose contract runs until 2020, earlier in the season and it is understood that further talks between the player's representatives and Bournemouth have now been shelved until the summer, when Arsenal will hope that they can snare the winger for a knockdown price.
Arsenal target Ryan Fraser could be the wing wonder of Unai Emery's transfer revolution
However Mostyn seemed to indicate that Bournemouth would be willing to offer Fraser a pay rise to keep him at the Vitality Stadium, saying the club will "do the best for Ryan".
"We will talk to Ryan," Mostyn said. "It is very early days yet and we will do the best for Ryan as we always have for all of our players.
"At the end of the day, contracts are what [they are]. People sign long-term contracts and will still leave but as far as I am concerned, I follow Eddie Howe's mantra – we never talk about transfers and I just follow my manager’s example."
Fraser himself has welcomed interest from Arsenal and certainly would not fear a step up to one of the Premier League's top sides. He is not the only player on the Gunners' radar for wide reinforcements, among their other targets are Leandro Trossard of Genk, Boca Juniors' Cristian Pavon and Ismaila Sarr of Rennes.

Scotland international Fraser, 25, is not the only Bournemouth player interesting top sides, with Chelsea holding a long-standing interest in England striker Callum Wilson.
"Ryan Fraser is a Bournemouth player," Mostyn said. "Callum Wilson is a Bournemouth player.
"We just don't want anybody to leave the football club. Your prized assets are prized assets for a reason and we want to continue the momentum that we have achieved.

"Four consecutive seasons in the Premier League. We are going to start our next season, which will be our fifth year [and] we want our very best players to be playing for our football club."
Mostyn's optimism has not necessarily been shared by manager Howe, who appeared to indicate that Fraser had doubts over extending a six-year stay on the south coast.
"He is an outstanding talent but it is a two-way prospect to sign a contract, so let's wait and see," Howe conceded.
