Arsenal get huge boost ahead of Europa League quarter-final as Napoli ace suffers injury setback

Arsenal will meet Napoli in the quarter-finals of the Europa League next month and they have been handed a boost ahead of the tie.

Unai Emery's side have just 13 days until they do battle with the Italians in London and they certainly do not want to pick up any injuries in the coming weeks prior to the clash.

Whilst Arsenal are in a strong position to land a top-four spot and qualify for next season’s Champions League, winning the Europa League also provides an avenue for the premier European competition.

The Gunners' chances of making the semi-finals have been boosted with the news of  an injury set-back for Napoli star Lorenzo Insigne.

The 27-year-old has been a key player for the Serie A outfit over the years and was already a doubt for the first-leg in north London alongside ex-Tottenham defender Vlad Chiriches (thigh) and Amadou Diawara (foot).

In regards to the latter, he's expected to be sidelined for a month which rules him out of the trip to London while the other pair were facing a race against the clock to be fit.

But it’s said that Insigne pulled up in training on Friday with a muscle injury as he looked to step up the recovery process.

That’s according to CalcioNapoli24, who are saying that Insigne had to leave Napoli’s training session early with a 'muscle contraction in the adductor of the right thigh'.

Now it just remains to be seen whether Insigne will be fit enough to play against Arsenal at the Emirates when Napoli make the trip across on Thursday, April 11.

The Italian has scored nine times in Serie A this season and also found the back of the net three times in Carlo Ancelotti side's brief Champions League run before Christmas and that includes strikes home and away against Paris Saint-Germain.
