Arsenal get another reason to regret Mesut Ozil decision after what Hakim Ziyech did for Chelsea

Arsenal fans may be looking on with envy at Hakim Ziyech's brilliant start to life at Chelsea.

The Blues moved quickly to sign the Morocco international as they agreed a deal with Ajax shortly after the January transfer window closed earlier in the year and £33.4m is looking like money well spent.

Despite having to wait until October to make his competitive debut for Chelsea, Ziyech has already scored twice and has three assists to his name in four Premier League appearances.

Two of which came in a 4-1 win over Sheffield United on Saturday evening - a game in which he created a total of six chances for his teammates.

It's the kind of creativity Arsenal have lacked this season.

Although it's a problem they could have been avoided had Gunners taken the advice of former player Marc Overmars - the current Ajax Director of Football - a couple of summers ago.

"I am a little surprised that things are still so quiet around Hakim," Overmars said, as per AD last year. "I think he has played better every year and his statistics are exceptionally good.

"Many clubs are increasingly looking at that.

"They look more at the numbers than at what he shows and what is happening around him.

"I think Hakim is better than Mesut Ozil. I would say: sell it and you will get Hakim for half.

"But they didn't listen to me, haha. So it could just be that he stays with Ajax."

Interestingly eagle-eyed fans on social media found an old video of the attacking midfielder taking part in a Q&A with former teammate Justin Kluivert, where he revealed that it was his 'dream' to play for Arsenal.

Asked which club he'd like to play for in the future, he responded: "Well, I have two clubs. They are Arsenal and Barcelona. That is my ultimate dream."

However, Ziyech was denied his ultimate dream transfer to Arsenal as the club couldn't move Ozil on and ironically the 32-year-old isn't part of Mikel Arteta's plans.
