Arsenal FIFA 22 player ratings in full: Bukayo Saka rise but downgrades for top stars

Bukayo Saka has been handed an upgraded FIFA player rating for the FIFA 22 video game, which was released on Tuesday.

But Saka’s rise bucked the trend for the wider Arsenal squad, with some of their biggest stars being downgraded following a season that saw them finish a lowly eighth in the Premier League.

Many of the Gunners squad struggled as Mikel Arteta ’s squad failed to qualify for Europe, a situation reflected by EA Sports in the best-selling game.

It is not all bad news though, with the FIFA 22 player raters clearly impressed with Arsenal’s summer recruitment, with many of their new signings being upgraded from their previous clubs.

Saka was one of Arsenal’s players of the season last term, scoring seven goals and notching 10 assists in all competitions.

He followed that up with an impressive tournament for England at Euro 2020, as the Three Lions reached their first major final since 1966.

The versatile winger’s performance has been reflected in his FIFA 22 rating, with the 20-year-old being handed a five-point upgrade to 80 overall from the last game.

Fellow Arsenal academy product Emile Smith Rowe has also been upgraded, by six points to 76 overall, having enjoyed a breakthrough campaign last year which was rewarded by a new deal.

Gabriel Martinelli has been handed a small upgrade from 74 to 76 overall, despite struggling to break into Arteta’s plans.

But it is bad news for many of Arsenal’s biggest stars, with most of them being downgraded following unimpressive seasons.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been downgraded by two points following a campaign which saw him net just 10 league goals, though he remains the Gunners’ highest-rated player.

Fellow attackers Alexandre Lacazette and Nicolas Pepe have also seen their poor form reflected in FIFA 22.

Further back on the pitch, Bernd Leno, Granit Xhaka, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Sead Kolasinac have also seen their overall rating moved down.

There is better news for Arsenal following their summer recruitment, with new additions Ben White, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Takehiro Tomiyasu all given upgrades.

Martin Odegaard also remains a player with an 80+ rating, though he has been downgraded from FIFA 21.

Aaron Ramsdale was also moved down by one point following his relegation with Sheffield United, while their first signing of the summer, Nuno Tavares, was downgraded by two points.
