Arsenal fans worried as Kevin De Bruyne closes in on Thierry Henry's Premier League record

Kevin De Bruyne is edging closer to breaking Thierry Henry's record for the most assists in a Premier League season.

The Manchester City midfielder notched his 16th assist of the current season after his corner was headed in by Rodri to give Pep Guardiola's side the lead against West Ham.

In the second half, De Bruyne also scored to double the lead against the Hammers and seal the three points for the reigning champions.

But it was the Belgian's delivery for summer signing Rodri which had Arsenal supporters talking on social media.

The Gunners' all-time top scorer Henry created 20 assists over the course of the 2002/03 season, a record which has stood ever since.

But with De Bruyne's heroics against West Ham, some Arsenal supporters took to Twitter after the game to express their thoughts on the prospect of Henry losing his record.

In addition to De Bruyne's 16 assists, his eight goals this season means the midfielder has notched 24 goal involvements in total, three more than any other player.

Jamie Vardy is behind on 21 with 17 goals and four assists, while Mohamed Salah is on 20 with 14 goals and six assists.

Sergio Aguero makes up the top four with 16 goals and three assists.
