Arsenal have been told that William Saliba has the same qualities as Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk and Real Madrid's Raphael Varane.
The Gunners signed Saliba last summer from St-Etienne for £27 million but part of the deal involved him going back on loan to France for the 2019/20 season.
The 19-year-old has now finally linked up with Arsenal permanently as they look to solve the defensive problems which have hindered them in recent seasons.
Mikel Arteta and Arsenal fans in general are excited about what the teenage centre-back can bring to the situation at the Emirates.
And now the words of Saliba's former youth coach for France, Jean-Luc Vannuchi, will make for great reading.
"My first impression was that this was the biggest man of his generation," Vannuchi told The Telegraph. "The difference between him and the other players was massive.
"When he took the ball and ran into midfield, no one could stop him. He was like a monster compared to the others. When he played with St-Etienne it looked normal for him, even though he was so young.
"A mix of the two styles. With Varane because of his speed and power, and with Van Dijk it is the interceptions, the positioning on the pitch."
Saliba landed the captaincy at St-Etienne when he was only 18 and has represented France at several different age groups in the youth ranks.
