Arsenal fans will love what Robert Pires has said about Gabriel Martinelli

Arsenal legend Robert Pires has said that Gunners' youngster Gabriel Martinelli will be a big part of the future at the Emirates Stadium.

The Brazilian moved to the club during the summer and has made an instant impact at Arsenal, despite being bought to the club as a player for the future.

Martinelli has scored 10 goals and provided four assists in his first 23 games in an Arsenal shirt, including two on his Europa League debut against Standard Liege, a game which the Gunners won 4-0.

The 18-year-old has impressed in the European competition, scoring three and providing three assists during the group stage and will have the chance to add to that number when Arsenal take on Olympiacos in the round of 32 stage of the competition.

Arsenal vs Everton odds

Talking to Ouest-France, Pires has said that his potential means that he will be a big player for Arsenal in years to come.

“He’s the revelation. I think he’ll confirm this and will be a very important player for the club," he said.

"He’s not going anywhere (laughs). He’s part of the players who have a real potential, on who we will lean for years to come. It’s important to have players like him”.

Martinelli was an unused substitute for the 4-0 Premier League win over Newcastle, but had started the previous three league games.
