Arsenal fans will love what Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's ex-agent has said about Nicolas Pepe

Nicolas Pepe to Arsenal is a deal which is moving ever closer by the day and it's safe to say that fans are getting excited.

They have every right to be as well considering the Lille star's potential and the fact that Arsenal are finally on the verge of spending big money.

Arsenal have agreed a £72m deal for the 24-year-old winger, who is expected to complete his switch to the Emirates in the next couple of days.

The Gunners will pay the fee in instalments to suit their limited transfer budget for this summer after missing out on the Champions League again.

Napoli have also met Lille's asking price but Pepe, who scored 23 goals for the French side last season, is set for a move to Arsenal.

This has led to excitement and some impatience among fans wanting to see his deal announced.

Head coach Unai Emery issued an important update following Arsenal's defeat in the Emirates Cup at the hands of Lyon on Sunday afternoon.

"We are working, the club, and also thinking how we can improve and there are different players with the possibility if we can achieve their signatures," the Spaniard told reporters.

"Pepe’s a very good player and also we are thinking about only players who really, really improve this squad.

"And also give us some different conditions to improve.

"We are working for the last few weeks, and before starting the season, the first match in Newcastle, to get the best team with the best players in our squad."

In the meantime, here are some quotes that fans will love from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's former representative Oscar Damiani, who has been talking up the Ivory Coast international.

“He can reach the highest level,” Damiani told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “He’s a great striker, technical and fast.

"He is great on the counterattack and is able to accelerate for long distances. He plays wide but goes straight at goal, scoring lots of goals and getting a lot of assists.

"But he plays a little alone, and tactically is a bit rough."
