Mikel Arteta is expected to be appointed Arsenal's new head coach today.
The former club captain will take over from Unai Emery, three weeks after the Spaniard was sacked following a disastrous start to the season.
The Gunners are in a dismal run of form, winning just one of their last nine Premier League games, and sit 10th in the table as a result.
Arteta has plenty of work on his hands in what will be his first managerial role, stepping up from being Pep Guardiola's number two to take the reins at the Emirates.
There is work to do in the short-term, before he sets out his long-term vision for the future.
Arteta impressed the Arsenal hierarachy in 2018 when he narrowly missed out on the top job to Emery.
But just a year-and-a-half later and the 37-year-old is back and this time the man to take the job and take the club forward.
And what he said when he joined as a player in 2011 should excite the arsenal fans about the way he will want his team to play football in north London.
Speaking at his unveiling, he said: "I knew very well the way Arsenal wants to play, the philosophy, the players, I used to like watching Arsenal play because they played the best football for me in the Premier League.
"After that it's a really nice group pf players, staff, and after that our attitude, we need to try to adapt to the team to the players, to what is needed.
"I've always been a big admirer of Arsenal's philosophy, the way they play and they want to propose on the pitch, for me it was a really, really good opportunity."
And it stands to reason that what he felt as a player, just eight years ago, will still ring true in his managerial philosophies, especially given his time working under Guardiola at Manchester City.
It could be an exciting time for Arsenal fans.
