'Make him captain now!' - Arsenal fans loved what one player did after the Liverpool game

Arsenal were knocked out of the Carabao Cup on penalties after a 5-5 draw with Liverpool in normal time.

The Gunners led for the for a good part of the cup tie against the Premier League leaders however, as they looked to see out a 5-4 advantage, Divock Origi struck in stoppage time to send the tie to a penalty shootout.

It was a game that was arguably the most entertaining of the season so far, with both teams seemingly taking it in turns to find the back of the net.

Arsenal went into the half time break 3-2 up after a Gabriel Martinelli brace and a strike from Lucas Torreira cancelled out Shkodran Mustafi's early own goal. A James Milner penalty halved the deficit just before the half time whistle.

If neutrals thought that it was an entertaining first half, then they were in for a treat in the second, when the goals just kept coming. Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Joe Willock may have thought that they're strikes were enough to see the Gunners through to the next round, but Jurgen Klopp's men had different ideas.

With the match eventually going to a penalty shootout, it was Dani Ceballos who saw his spot kick saved, an action which would ultimately see Arsenal crash out of the tournament.

But it was the actions of fellow summer arrival, Kieran Tierney, following the loss that will make him even more popular among his new fans.

Spotted on camera, the Scotland international rounded up his teammates to tell them to head over and thank the travelling Gunners fans.

Tierney only made his Premier League debut against Crystal Palace, but is already a popular player among Arsenal supporters, and his latest actions is sure to again go down well at the Emirates Stadium.

The left-back is set to start against Wolves on Saturday after Sead Kolasinac started at Anfield on Wednesday night.
