Arsenal fans will love what Ian Wright has said about their protest against Stan Kroenke

Arsenal legend Ian Wright says he 'stands with' supporters who protested on Friday evening.

Thousands of Gunners fans flocked to the Emirates Stadium ahead of Arsenal's 1-0 defeat to Everton to protest against the club's ownership group, KSE.

Fans were already unhappy with Stan Kroenke's actions since taking over the club, and the decision to become one of the founding members of the ill-fated Super League exacerbated the discontent among fans.

Arsenal later pulled out of the competition and KSE have agreed to pay the cost of the Gunners withdrawing from their contract with the other 11 clubs, nine of which have also committed to pulling out.

But fans are still not happy, and they made it very clear on Friday night with signs and chants telling Kroenke they want him out of their club having seen little investment from the US billionaire since his arrival.

Kroenke initially purchased a stake in the club in 2007 and took control of the board a year later. He went on to increase his stake in 2011 before finishing his purchase of Arsenal Holdings in 2018.

He now owns the entirety of the club, but Arsenal fans want him to sell up, and club legend Wright agrees, backing protestors over their actions on Friday night.

He told DAZN: "I stand with them. I made it clear the other day what I think about the owner. I think they're right to be outside there, the fans have every right to be out there saying what they're saying.

"KSE are not fit to run the club, not fit to own the club."

Josh Kroenke, an Arsenal director and son of owner Stan, has said KSE has 'no intentions' of selling the Gunners, even in light of recent events, though that statement did come before Friday's protest.
