Arsenal fans will love what Declan Rice said about David Luiz following Manchester City win

Arsenal progressed to the 2019/20 FA Cup Final on Saturday evening with a well-deserved 2-0 victory over Manchester City at Wembley.

A brace from star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was enough to seal the Gunners' passage to their 21st FA Cup Final in their history, as Mikel Arteta inflicted revenge on his former master, Pep Guardiola.

The win over City capped off a memorable few days for both Arsenal and Arteta, after the Gunners had defeated newly-crowned Premier League champions Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Whilst there was slices of good fortune about the victory against Liverpool, no luck was needed to help Arsenal get the better of City.

Right from the outset the Gunners were the better side and fully warranted their victory.

As expected, it was Gabon international Aubameyang who dominated the headlines, as he took his tally of goals in all competitions this season to 25.

But it was not just Aubameyang that delivered to the maximum underneath the Wembley Arch, as the likes of Kieran Tierney, Granit Xhaka and Dani Ceballos all produced outstanding displays.

Whilst Xhaka and Ceballos shone in the centre of midfield, Brazilian star David Luiz shone at centre-back.

The former Chelsea man, who has come under such heavy scrutiny in recent weeks and months for some forgettable performances and errors, was outstanding at the back, delivering, arguably, his best performance in an Arsenal shirt.

Luiz was not only rock solid in a defensive sense, but he was also making things happen going forward as well, as he found Aubameyang with a superb chance which was missed.

And Luiz's performance not only caught the eye of the Arsenal supporters and watching pundits, but also fellow Premier League star Declan Rice, who took to social media after the game to heap praise on Luiz's performance.

Rice wrote: "What a performance from David Luiz."

Luiz deserved the praise, that there is no doubt about. The former Paris Saint-Germain star was superb and Arteta will now be hoping he can maintain that level of performance over the next few games.
