Arsenal fans will love what Caglar Soyuncu has said about '£34m transfer target' Merih Demiral

Arsenal fans have demanded defensive reinforcements in the January transfer window.

This is despite signing David Luiz from London rivals Chelsea in the summer as well as keeping one eye on the future by snapping up highly-rated William Saliba from Saint-Etienne for the fee in the region of £27m.

The Gunners faithful will have to wait until next season to see the latter in action as he's spending the season on loan at the Ligue 1 club.

Meanwhile his parent club have kept just two clean sheets in the Premier League thus far which has prompted some fans to call for the sales of Luiz and Sokratis in the new year.

That would leave head coach Unai Emery short of options at centre-back, but he does need to address the issues at the heart of his defence if the Gunners are to make a Champions League return in 2020.

Could Merih Demiral be the answer to the club's defensive woes?

Well, Leicester City's Caglar Soyuncu seems to think so.

The pair played alongside each other in Turkey's goalless draw against Iceland on Thursday afternoon and the Foxes ace - previously linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium - took to social media afterwards to utter a few words that Arsenal fans will love.

"TurkishWall," he posted on Twitter to be continue(d)..." with a muscle and cool face emoji accompanying it.

This week the Daily Mail claimed that Arsenal are monitoring the Juventus with the view to a £34m deal in the January window.

The 21-year-old could be available in the new year after making just one appearance under Maurizio Sarri thus far and will need to maintain his match sharpness given that Turkey have qualified for Euro 2020.

Behind Leonardo Bonucci and Matthijs de Ligt in the pecking order at Juve right now, it's looking likely that Demiral will have a decision to make regarding his future in the coming months.
