Arsenal fans will love what Bernd Leno has said about rivals Tottenham and Chelsea

If Bernd Leno did not already have the love of all the Arsenal fans, he will have won a few more over with what he has said about Chelsea and Tottenham.

With Petr Cech retiring, Leno is undoubtedly Arsenal's number one this season.

The German was criticised by Gary Neville during the North London Derby draw with Tottenham before the international break, for palming an Erik Lamela shot straight out into the path of Christian Eriksen to open the scoring.

But a couple of mistakes apart, the goalkeeper has impressed in his time at the Emirates since joining from Bayer Leverkusen last summer.

And it is what the keeper has said about his arrival from Leverkusen in a £19million deal that will endear himself to the Gunners faithful even more.

In an interview with SportBild, Leno was asked to compare his old club with his new one.

And he aimed a sly dig in the direction of Arsenal's biggest London rivals Tottenham and Chelsea in doing so.

He said: "You can’t compare that, of course Arsenal is a world club, the club here in London.

"Not Chelsea, not Tottenham – Arsenal is the club here with fans around the world. No matter where we are, also in the USA or in Asia, there are many fans of Arsenal everywhere."

I'm sure the Spurs and Chelsea fans would have something to say about it, but the Arsenal fans will love that.
