Gary Lineker has made a prediction about Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Aubameyang finally ended his goal drought which dated back to November 1 on Wednesday night, with the Gabon international netting the equaliser as Arsenal drew with high-flyers Southampton.
The Gunners went into the clash looking to avoid suffering their fifth straight home league defeat for the first time in their history, and they did thanks to Aubameyang's 52nd-minute equaliser, which cancelled out Theo Walcott's opener for the visitors.
Mikel Arteta's men did have to hold on after Gabriel Magalhaes' red card 10 minutes later but they managed to avoid their fourth consecutive league defeat.
Aubameyang is to thank for that and the striker will be mightily relieved having endured his longest goal drought since arriving at Arsenal in 2018.
And according to Match of the Day presenter Lineker, the goal will be the start of Aubameyang's resurgence having struggled since signing his new contract in the summer.
Lineker wrote on Twitter: "All strikers have spells without goals. The best don’t let it affect them. @Aubameyang7 is one of the best and now he’s scored the goals will flow again."
Aubameyang has scored 57 goals in just 98 Premier League appearances since arriving at Arsenal, netting 22 in the league last season and earning himself a new contract in the process.
But the 31-year-old has only managed three so far this season with Arsenal struggling for form, left hovering around the relegation zone after 13 games.
Aubameyang will now be looking to kick on now that he has broken his drought to help the Gunners climb the table, starting with a trip to Everton on Saturday evening.
