Arsenal fans think they have spotted a team news hint in training ahead of Newcastle clash

Arsenal return to action on Monday night when they face Newcastle United for the second time in less than 10 days.

The Gunners emerged victorious in the FA Cup third-round tie between the two teams last weekend thanks to extra-time goals from Emile Smith Rowe and captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

But will the two scorers be involved in the Premier League meeting?

Well, some Arsenal fans have spotted a few notable absentees from Saturday's training session at London Colney which includes Smith Rowe as well as Aubameyang.

As per usual, the club have uploaded a 'Behind The Scenes' training video to YouTube and a few of the comments have highlighted the absences of the aforementioned duo as well as the likes of Bukayo Saka, Alexandre Lacazette, and Hector Bellerin.

Jonas Langkaas asked: "Where was Bukayo Saka? Didn't see him."

Anshul Sanmukhiya said: "No Laca, Auba, and Kieran in training??"

Billy Dolton asked: "@Arsenal where was Bellerin, Niles, Luiz, Tierney, Ceballos, Smith Rowe, Laca, Auba, Saka, Pepe, Holding Xhaka as they were not in this training video???"

However, one fan has suggested that Mikel Arteta's strongest XI were given extra rest and perhaps hinting at the team the Gunners manager will name against the Magpies.

Ian Mathias said: "Seems like a few players are missing... maybe they're on a light training schedule? No Auba, Laca, KT, Xhaka, Ceballos, Saka, Hector, Pablo, ESR, Holding, AMN, Leno in this video.

"Basically, 1st XI. Maybe they're getting more rest..."

Speaking ahead of the game, Arteta has warned his side that they must be ruthless against a Newcastle side which they took 114 minutes to break down in the cup tie.

"Well we did a lot of good things there, but we didn't have the capacity to put the ball in the net in our situations that we created," the Arsenal boss said in his pre-match press conference. "Against them, be ruthless in front of goal.

"The moment we created the chances, the mindset to attack them as much as possible, hit the target as many times as we possibly can, and we'll be fine."
