Arsenal fans think Mikel Arteta has already completed his first summer transfer mission

Mikel Arteta might just have found a way to save Arsenal millions in the summer transfer window.

Midfield is a key area that the Gunners manager wants to bolster and there are several names who fit into the Spaniard's plans going into the new campaign.

Of course, signing Martin Odegaard permanently from Real Madrid or agreeing a second loan deal is the priority and as reported by football.london, the Norway international has told those close to him that he would like to stay at Arsenal beyond the end of this season.

If the Gunners aren't successful in their negotiations with Los Blancos and the Norwegian's representatives at the end of the season, then they will have to turn to their contingency plans.

Nabil Fekir has been tipped for a move, but football.london has revealed that interest in the attacking midfielder is 'tentative' and unlikely to be pursued this summer.

Meanwhile, Manchester United attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard - currently on loan at West Ham United - has emerged as a surprise option over the weekend.

But does Arteta already have the perfect player for the number 10 role in his ranks?

And it's not Emile Smith Rowe, who has impressed since breaking into the first-team picture over the festive period in late 2020.

Some Arsenal fans believe this could very well be the case after watching Bukayo Saka impress - prior to limping off - behind Alexandre Lacazette in the 3-0 win over Sheffield United on Sunday night.
