Arsenal fans think a transfer announcement is imminent after Atletico Madrid agree loan deal

Arsenal supporters have taken to social media after reports emerged of Atletico Madrid agreeing a loan deal with Juventus for Alvaro Morata.

According to journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the former Chelsea striker is due in Turin on Tuesday to have his medical and sign a season-long loan deal with the Serie A giants.

Furthermore, it's being reported that the deal is €10m (£9.1m) for the loan with a €45m (£41m) option to buy at the end of the campaign.

Mikel Arteta: Nketiah is good enough to start

Interestingly, this deal could spark Atletico into action ahead of transfer deadline day.

Over the weekend, talk of Arsenal midfielder swapping north London for the Spanish capital gained momentum following claims that he's been contacted by Diego Simeone.

That's according to Sport 890 - a publication in Uruguay.

Journalist Sebas Giovanelli even suggested that Torreira could be tempted by a move to Atletico and that's despite looking set for a return to Italy amid links to Torino and Fiorentina.

And with Thomas Partey on the Gunners' radar, many fans are urging a swap deal that would benefit all parties.

But with Arsenal supporters eagerly awaiting an announcement on Torreira's exit which many are hoping will involve Partey moving in the opposite direction, some fans are convinced there could be news very soon after Morata's move.

Take a look at what's been said on Twitter...

Torreira has recently hinted at leaving the club this summer.

"Today I need to think about my future very well," he told Sport890 at the beginning of August. "I have a contract with the club and I have to respect it, obviously if I have to leave it will be for the best.

"We have to be calm and wait."
