Arsenal fans spotted what Nicolas Pepe did to three Bournemouth players during 1-0 win

Nicolas Pepe has endured a difficult start to life as Arsenal's record signing.

The Ivory Coast international joined the Gunners during the summer transfer window from Ligue 1 outfit Lille for a fee which could rise to £72m - eclipsing deals for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.

Having netted 23 goals as well as 12 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions last season, the 24-year-old certainly arrived at the Emirates Stadium to much fanfare and huge expectations.

However, he's come in for criticism from the media as well as some Gunners supporters having only scored once and weighed in with three assists thus far.

But are there signs that the best of Pepe is not too far away?

Well, the 1-0 win over Bournemouth at the weekend would suggest so - even though he was replaced just after the hour mark at the Emirates Stadium.

And it's not the assist he provided for David Luiz which turned out to be the winner.

As spotted by Arsenal fans on Reddit, there was one moment where Pepe showcased just how good he can be once he's fully adjusted to life in English football.

With three Bournemouth defenders on his back, Pepe swapped passes with Calum Chambers before proceeding to humiliate the aforementioned trio with a brilliant display of quick feet, close control and superb skill.

Last week Pepe said it won't take long before he is back to his best.

"It has not been easy, I must tell the truth," he told French radio station RMC. "My stats have not been good enough or my usual performances, it is not the same as Lille or the Liverpool game earlier in the season.

"My confidence must come back. I am not very worried. People may be worried about my statistics but I am not.

"I have to keep working as the level here is different so is the language. It is a new league for me and I must adapt quickly.

"But it won't take very long."
