Arsenal fans spotted what Kieran Tierney did to Martin Odegaard in his first training session

Martin Odegaard is officially an Arsenal player.

The highly-rated Norwegian international joined the Gunners on loan for the remainder of the season on Wednesday, signing from Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid.

Odegaard became the Gunners' third signing of the January window, following on from the arrivals of Omar Rekik from Hertha Berlin and Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Mat Ryan, who also joined on loan for the rest of the season last week.

The 22-year-old will be hoping to win his Gunners debut when Mikel Arteta's troops face Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday teatime, as they look to maintain their recent run of impressive form in the league.

How Odegaard fits in, his favourite Arsenal player and what is next in the transfer market

Although Odegaard's arrival was only announced on Wednesday morning, the attacking-midfielder, who has spent time on loan at Real Sociedad in the past, he was thrown straight into training, taking part in yesterday's session at London Colney.

As the midfielder walked out onto one of the many pitches at the Gunners' training base, Odegaard's first touch was tested by team-mate Kieran Tierney, who will be hoping to return to the squad for Saturday's tussle with Manchester United, after he missed the showdown with Southampton on Wednesday evening because of a calf problem.

In a clip shared on Arsenal's reddit page, Tierney was spotted laughing and joking with Odegaard as they walked out onto the playing surface, as the former rolled the ball back into the new signing's path to test his first touch.

Odegaard was clearly smiling about the incident as he acclimatised himself to his new surroundings.

Should the 22-year-old be handed his Gunners debut against Manchester United on Saturday, Arsenal's supporters will be hoping their latest import from Real Madrid, following in the footsteps in Dani Ceballos, can have an immediate impact.
