Arsenal fans spotted what Folarin Balogun did as tempers flare during Reims vs PSG clash

Arsenal have a number of players out on loan this season. But arguably the best performing star away from the club so far is Folarin Balogun.

The Gunners have high hopes for the young striker, who made the move to Reims in the summer to play in Ligue Un. And he has taken the move in his stride, with six goals in ten appearances for the French outfit.

Not one of the bigger hitters in the French top division, Balogun's goals have helped the side pick up three precious points as they look to consolidate in Ligue Un this year.

After coming on as a substitute in the first league game against Marseille - and promptly scoring - Balogun has started all but one of Reims' matches since. Only Kylian Mbappe and Neymar have scored more goals than the Arsenal loan man in the French league this season.

And Balogun came up against both of those two superstars on Saturday. Reims hosted PSG and picked up a creditable 0-0 draw, although they were helped by the sending off of PSG man Sergio Ramos, who was given two quick yellow cards by the referee, seemingly for dissent both times.

In a feisty contest, tempers flared late on when Neymar was unceremoniously upended on the edge of the box. Around 14 players got involved ina heated exchange on the pitch with plenty of pushing and shoving going on.

However, Balogun was not one of them. The Arsenal loanee can be seen looking at the initial foul and then the skirmish with his hands on his hips, refusing to get drawn into the heated confrontation.

It will impress Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta to see the 21-year-old stay out of the firing line, having spoken to Balogun before he went on loan.

Speaking about his loan move, Balogun said earlier in the season: "Before I moved, Mikel said he wanted me to develop as a man. It was kind of like an open answer and for me to interpret what me meant by develop as a man. But by moving abroad, I’m starting to learn what he meant. It doesn’t just mean on the pitch but also off the pitch. I think by the time I go back I’ll be in a better place to compete than I was before I left."
