Arsenal fans 'spot' William Saliba training with squad for first time ahead of FA Cup final

Arsenal fans believe they have spotted summer signing William Saliba training at the club's London Colney base.

The French defender was signed by Unai Emery last summer but remained at Saint-Etienne for the season under the terms of the £27million deal.

Saliba, who was given the no.4 shirt last week as Arsenal released their new home kit for the 2020/21 season, had been training alone in recent days.

But, the 19-year-old appeared to be on show with his new team-mates on Wednesday as Mikel Arteta ran his squad through drills ahead of Saturday's FA Cup final.

Saliba, who was unable to represent Saint-Etienne in the French equivalent last week, which Paris Saint-Germain, is unable to make his debut at Wembley but got stuck in with the squad.

The centre-back spoke recently of his happiness at his Arsenal move, telling L'Equipe: "I fell for Arsenal from the start. A number of French players have been there.

"Arsenal has not been at the top of its game for the last three, four years - but like Saint-Etienne, its badge, its history and its fans made me want it.

"I have a crush on Arsenal. I had no hesitation [in signing for them]."
