Arsenal fans spot what happened to Martin Odegaard in Real Madrid training amid transfer claim

Martin Odegaard could yet be on the move this summer as talk of a return to Arsenal refuses to go away.

This is despite the Norway international - who spent the second half of last season on loan with the Gunners - all but confirming that he would be staying at Real Madrid in the forthcoming campaign, thus ruling out another spell at the Emirates Stadium.

"@Arsenal, Thank you so much for these 6 months," he wrote on Instagram. "My time with the Arsenal family will always hold a special place in my heart.

"I wanna [sic] thank everyone in and around the club for the way you made me feel like a part of the family since the first day.

"Special thanks to the fans, even without you guys at the stadium for the majority of the season, I felt you with me at all times.

"A huge thank you to the boss and his staff for everything I’ve learned during my stay. Thank you also to all my teammates for such a great time on and off the pitch.

"Will miss you all. Thank you, gunners family. Always in my heart."

But whilst Odegaard felt like part of the Arsenal family during his loan spell, it would appear that it's not the same situation back in Spain.

As speculated by Cadena SER journalist, Mario Torrejon, the playmaker could perform a U-turn in the coming weeks which could be great news for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta.

"I think Odegaard is going to leave Real Madrid, I have seen him very disconnected," Torrejon said.

Proof that Odegaard is 'disconnected' from the Real Madrid squad may have been found by some Gunners fans on Reddit as an interesting video clip has gone viral.

The clip is from a Los Blancos training session where the likes of Marcelo, Luka Jovic, and Lucas Vazquez are enjoying a shooting drill and at around the 0.18-second mark, Odegaard scores with his effort.

Although, as noticed by several Arsenal supporters, the reaction to Odegaard's goal was extremely quiet in comparison to cheers, high-fives and chest-bumps for some of the other players.

Of course, this has prompted quite the response...

EdwardSandwichHands said: "Come home martin, we will cherish you."

HsizzleH said: "The other players all know he's going to be back in London by next month."

pureeyes said: "Bring him home."
