Arsenal fans think they have spotted a Sokratis Papastathopoulos transfer hint.
The 32-year-old is out of contract at the Emirates Stadium in June, but having not been named in either of the Premier League or Europa League squads looks to have already played his final game for the Gunners.
Manager Mikel Arteta revealed last week that his main January transfer priority is to trim the Arsenal first-team squad.
"Well, we have a large squad. We knew that," he said ahead of the 4-0 win over West Brom. "A lot of things that should have happened in the summer we could not accomplish them for different reasons.
"There are a lot of players that are going to go on loan. They are going to leave.
"And that’s the priority at the moment because we cannot sustain the numbers that we have in certain positions. We are looking to do that."
Since those comments, Sead Kolasinac and William Saliba have joined Schalke and Nice on loan respectively for the remainder of the season, and it would appear Arsenal outgoings are set to continue.
According to reports, interest in Sokratis is high.
The Daily Mail claim that Napoli and Fenerbahce are just two teams are interested in signing the Greek defender before the transfer window shuts.
But does Sokratis have a preference?
Well, some Arsenal fans think that is the case after spotting a social media exchange between the former Borussia Dortmund player and current teammate Mesut Ozil.
As spotted by @ErayAFC on Twitter, Sokratis commented on Ozil's Instagram post about Istanbul with the eyes and winky face emoji.
And the theory amongst another supporter is that Sokratis' exit is on the cards.
@AFC_JAY_ said: "On my knees."
There's a chance that both Sokratis and Ozil leave the Emirates Stadium this month.
Whilst the former has also been linked with moves to Olympiacos and Genoa, football.london understands the latter is in negotiations with DC United.
The MLS side have offered an 'attractive' package to the former Germany international which includes the expansion of his M10 brand across the United States.
