Arsenal fans spot Folarin Balogun transfer hint despite Mikel Arteta confidence

Arsenal fans have spotted a significant hint that Folarin Balogun's future lies away from the club after his latest social media activity.

The 19-year-old striker is out of contract at the end of the season, where he will be able to leave on a free transfer, but Arsenal have been determined to retain his signature.

Mikel Arteta has repeatedly made his intention to keep the New York-born striker at the club, drafting him into the first-team squad this season.

While he made his debut in the Europa League last year, Premier League appearances have not been forthcoming for the teenager.

Despite that, Arteta stated earlier this month that he was confident Balogun would pen a new deal with the north London side.

"I’m still very positive that Flo is going to stay with us and it’s what we’re trying to do as a club, and it’s what I’m trying to do as a manager," he said ahead of the victory against Leeds United.

"As far as I know from last week, the player wants to be here, so I’m positive. I think he’s made some big progress in a few months."

However, fans on Reddit have spotted a major hint that Balogun is poised to leave the club after he completely purged his Instagram account.

The teenager has deleted all images off his Instagram account and fans have speculated that it means an exit is on the cards.

One fan, under the username spottydog1515 said: "Unfortunately it looks like Folarin is leaving.

"All images deleted off his Instagram and no recent involvement with first team training or the under 23 side. Such a pity."

Another fan, named Echo361, said: "We can’t keep them all and we certainly can’t bend over for every promising academy player that wants immediate gametime.

"He needed to follow the structure and he didn’t want to so wish him the best somewhere else."

No precise reason has been provided yet though and it may be that Balogun has decided to leave the social media platform.
