Arsenal fans send message to Raul Sanllehi after Bayern Munich make Arsene Wenger decision

Arsene Wenger's chances of landing the Bayern Munich appear to have ended after the German side ruled out an approach.

The former Arsenal manager was considered among the favourites to land the position after the Bundesliga champions parted ways with Niko Kovac after last weekend's surprise 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Eintracht Frankfurt.

Wenger , who has been out of management since leaving Arsenal at the end of the 2017/18 season, was quickly identified by many as the prime candidate to steady the ship.

However, a Bayern source has told German outlet Bild that, despite Wenger making contact with a club chief, he has been told he is not an option for the club.

"Arsene Wenger called Karl-Heinz Rummenigge on Wednesday afternoon and signalled interest in the coaching post," the source stated.

"Bayern appreciate Arsene Wenger very much for his work as a coach at Arsenal, but he is not an option as a coach at FC Bayern Munich."

Ahead of the Champions League action this week, Wenger was directly asked about the Bayern speculation and, although he did not give a definitive answer, he explained his current thoughts on his position away from management.

"I came here to speak about the games and you start very strongly there, putting me straight under pressure!" He told beIN Sports.

"Of course, coaching was my whole life and everybody who was a coach will tell you the same, that they miss the intensity. There are things you miss a lot and some things you don't miss.

"So I enjoy the things I don't miss too much but, on the other hand, winning a football game, preparing a team for a game and getting satisfaction, sharing emotions, is something that you miss.

"I coached from 33 years of age and I coached until 69 without interruption at a top level, 36 years without stopping, so even if I miss it, to get away from that pressure for a year was good for me.

"People who know me well say I'm more relaxed and it's true."

With the news that Wenger will not be joining Bayern, some Arsenal fans took to social media to urge their club to make a move for their former manager.
