Here is the Arsenal morning digest on Wednesday, September 23.

Five things spotted in Arsenal training

Arsenal travel to Leicester City this evening as the Gunners begin their Carabao Cup campaign at the King Power Stadium.

Ahead of the game, we’ve listed five things we spotted during the pre-Leicester training session at London Colney.

Out-of-favour duo Mesut Ozil and Matteo Guendouzi were both involved and William Saliba is back training with the first team following the defender’s injury.

Also, no under-23 players were involved in the session, Lucas Torreira was present amid exit rumours and new signing Runar Alex Runarsson was involved.

The 31-year-old is yet to make an appearance for the Gunners this season but could do this evening against Leicester.

The former Germany international posted the photo, alongside a caption of emojis that included: “#M1Ö #positivity #alwayssmile #YaGunnersYa”

One supporter tweeted: “Please tell me your playing against liverpool”, whilst another said: “Bang in 2 against liverpool and all will be forgiven”.

Gunners receive Tierney injury boost

Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney is set to resume full training later this week ahead of next Monday’s clash with Liverpool.

The Scottish full-back injured his groin during the warm-up ahead of the 2-1 victory over West Ham United on Saturday.

Tierney won’t be back for the Leicester clash, and neither will Cedric Soares, leaving Mikel Arteta with two of his full-backs sidelined.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Emile Smith Rowe are also out for the trip to the King Power this evening.
