Arsenal fans say the same thing as Manchester United plot Ainsley Maitland-Niles transfer move

Arsenal fans are not happy with the idea of selling Ainsley Maitland-Niles to Manchester United.

Reports in Germany this morning claimed a deal is close between the Gunners and United over Maitland-Niles.

Sport1 reported a fee of €22m+add ons has been agreed with paperwork '80% done'.

Arsenal fans were furious with the reports and the idea of selling a player to a 'direct rival' in Man United.

While reports in Germany suggest a deal could be done, the Manchester Evening News report Man United are not interested in a deal at this point, instead concentrating on Alex Telles and Jadon Sancho.

Maitland-Niles has started two of Arsenal's first three Premier League games this season, playing 90 minutes in both games.

The 23-year-old is under contract at the Emirates Stadium until 2023 but Mikel Arteta does need to raise funds to land a new midfielder and Maitland-Niles has been mentioned among a list of names that could be sacrificed.

Though, it seems more likely the likes of Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi would be first out the door.
