Arsenal fans say the same thing about Willian during Man United clash

Arsenal fans were lambasting Willian during the first half of the Premier League clash against Manchester United after a series of below-par deliveries.

Willian had a great start to his Arsenal career, creating two goals and playing a big part in the other goal in the Gunners' 3-0 opening day win against Fulham.

However, since then he has failed to add any more assists in the Premier League following his free transfer from Chelsea this summer.

The 32-year-old was picked to start in attack alongside Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, with Arsenal captain Aubameyang again deployed wide on the left.

It was a good start from Arsenal as they dominated possession and kept United penned back into their own half for much of the opening period.

The Gunners had a number of opportunities to get the ball into the box in the opening half hour of the game at Old Trafford from set-pieces, but the Brazil international failed to cause problems for the hosts.

The winger admitted recently that there are periods in games where he can get frustrated given Mikel Arteta's tactics - but says he has been learning a lot.

"It’s been a cool, new experience. I hadn’t worked with a coach with that mindset," he told Globo Esporte.

"The positional game doesn’t mean that you have no freedom on the pitch, you have the freedom to move.

"But many times you have to respect the position, what the coach asks, the instructions, understanding that it’ll be better for the team.

"It may happen that you don’t touch the ball and get frustrated, but Mikel always says that, wait a minute, the ball will arrive. I’ve been learning a lot."
