Arsenal fans point out Edu transfer mistake after youngster stars against Chelsea Under-23s

Arsenal youngster Folarin Balogun starred during Arsenal Under-23s clash against Chelsea.

Balogun was handed his Premier League debut during the Gunners' curtain-raiser against newly-promoted Brentford but struggled to make his mark on the game before being substituted for Bukayo Saka in the second half.

The Hale End graduate then came off the bench the following week against London rivals Chelsea and he featured against the Blues' Under-23 side on Sunday afternoon, netting a brace inside the first 23 minutes for Kevin Betsy's side.

The 20-year-old also provided an assist for Mika Biereth before coming off in the 38th minute, perhaps a hint that he will feature for the first team on Wednesday as the north London outfit host AFC Wimbledon in the Carabao Cup.

A number of Arsenal supporters took to social media to praise Balogun's clinical performance, with a few fans claiming that transfer chief Edu should have sent the England Under-21 international on loan during the summer transfer window.

Here is how a select few reacted on Twitter to his display.

@Balogoall : "We should have send Balogun to championship on loan, he’s way to good for u23s."

@Bolee_9 : "Balogun brace." he’s too good for U23 football

@Whatsinaname81 : "Patino playing like a dream. Balogun like it’s pretty easy now at this level."

@RealistJon : "We messed up not loaning out Balogun."

@Gooner_AK : "Balogun is far too good for this level and Biereth has impressed me each time I've seen him play."

@OgaSegee: "Balogun has to be loaned out tbh."

The Gunners are likely to name a heavily rotated side for the clash against Wimbledon, with young playmaker Charlie Patino reportedly set to make his first-team debut.
