Arsenal fans noticed why Gabriel Martinelli did the 'Mbappe pose' after scoring against Chelsea

Eagle-eyed Arsenal supporters took to social media after Gabriel Martinelli's goal celebration against Chelsea.

The teenage striker helped the ten-men of Arsenal snatch an unlikely point after David Luiz conceded a penalty and was sent off early in the game.

Jorginho scored from the spot, leaving the Gunners with a mountain to climb at Stamford Bridge.

In the second half, Martinelli picked up the ball after a Chelsea corner was cleared, and ran 60 yards with the ball at his feet, before slotting past Kepa Arrizabalaga to equalise.

Frank Lampard's side thought they had scored a late winner when Cesar Azpilicueta diverted a cross past Bernd Leno from close range.

But Hector Bellerin, who was making his return from injury and was Arsenal's captain on the night, fired a left-footed curling effort into the far corner to level for the second time in the game.

Despite the dramatic equaliser, it was Martinelli's celebration which had supporters talking.

Directly after scoring, the Brazilian stood in front of the travelling supporters at the Shed End, before crossing his arms - a pose that was made famous by Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe.

But some fans spotted what may have inspired the Arsenal striker to perform the celebration.

As the camera pans out to show the Arsenal fans celebrating, one supporter wearing a light grey jacket can be seen with his arms outstretched.

The man then crosses his arms in the Mbappe pose, which appears to prompt Martinelli to do the same.

Speaking after the game, head coach Mikel Arteta praised his side's spirit to comeback with a man disadvantage.

"The spirit, character, fight and leadership was there," he said.

"When someone makes a mistake and someone has to take a red card for him it can happen.

"What has to happen is you have to stand up for him and every single player did that. If you put in everything, anything can happen."

When asked about Martinelli and whether he has been impressed with how the teenager has stepped up in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's absence, Arteta said: "Absolutely. Not just him, I think Laca is playing at a really good level even though he's not scoring and Nico as well and everybody that's coming in.

"They are fighting really hard in training to try to convince us to play more - when they question some things I tell them (to) speak on the pitch and this is to speak on the pitch."
