Arsenal fans noticed what upset Thomas Partey on his full Premier League debut vs Leicester

Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey will want to forget his home debut in a hurry.

The £45m summer signing from Atletico Madrid was handed a first Premier League start against Leicester City on Sunday evening, just three days after impressing in the Europa League away at Rapid Wien.

Joined in midfield by Granit Xhaka and Dani Ceballos, the Ghana international appears to have already slotted in at Arsenal with relative ease - but he's yet to taste a Premier League victory.

Arteta on Lacazette: Strikers need goals but he looks sharp

Jamie Vardy's only goal of the game spoiled Partey's home debut and inflicted back-to-back defeats for Mikel Arteta's side following the international break.

Speaking about the result, the Gunners manager felt his side deserved more.

"To be fair I was really pleased with the first half. The way we pressed and the aggression we showed," he said in his post-match press conference. "We were effective with that and restricted them to nothing.

"We scored the goal on the set-piece which I don't know how it got disallowed. We needed to be patient and not to make any errors.

"We made the decision when there is no pressure on the ball to try and attack that space and they scored a good goal. We didn't manage to have enough continuity in our play, we didn't put the ball as often as we could in the box.

"It's a very harsh result for us considering what happened in the game."

Meanwhile, some Arsenal fans have taken to Reddit and shared their thoughts on the game.

One, in particular, uploaded a 12-second clip of the Gunners in possession where Partey became visibly frustrated by the lack of midfield recycling.

This prompted quite a response.

cocoabutterprince said: "We can’t sustain pressure at all. That should have been a first touch pass by Mustafi into Partey as the Leicester defence was destabilised from losing possession. Instead we passed around it and allowed them to regain their shape."

kvng_stunner said: "Mustafi really should have passed to him, Gabriel should have passed to him, even for Xhaka, he had a good angle. With a few feet of space to run into and pull a marker or two, Partey is REALLY dangerous, but apparently his own team mates don't even know that.

"I have no idea why he got the ball so few times. Like these guys are so scared to pass the ball."

Bread_n_cheese said: "Hopefully someone like Partey is someone who recognizes the flaws and in training forces the team to improve our midfield recycling. Having a player like Partey who can recognize the problem and also be a major part of solving it can definitely get the ball rolling faster."
