Arsenal fans noticed what Mikel Arteta did to David de Gea after Man United win

Arsenal tasted victory at Old Trafford in the Premier League for the first time in 14 years on Sunday afternoon.

Captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's second half penalty was enough to seal a 1-0 win over Manchester United and end their run of rotten visits to the 'Theatre of Dreams'.

Emotions were running high throughout the game and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta couldn't hide his delight when the final whistle blew as he punched the air before going onto the pitch to embrace his players.

Mikel Arteta impressed by how well Gabriel and Partey have settled in

On the club's official YouTube account, Arsenal posted their regular 'Bench Cam' video, which captures the Spaniard's every move in the dugout.

And Arteta was animated as ever throughout the game.

However, it's what he did after the full-time whistle that triggered a response from some Gunners supporters.

As pointed out by arteta 5, at around the 6.49-minute mark, United goalkeeper David de Gea congratulates the Arsenal boss on the win by shaking his compatriot's hand.

But some fans have come up with some brilliant theories in regards to what the Spaniard really wanted.

From suggestions of wanting a move to the Emirates Stadium to wanting a hug, Arsenal fans have got really creative with their responses.

arteta 5 said: "De Gea try to be sneaky you naughty naughty, trying to make Arteta like him so he can join Arsenal, but our boss ignored him."

Dan Gagiu said: "'Amigo, you are much better than OGS' Arteta ignored him as he already knows this."

Sagandeep Singh said: "Did anybody notice Arteta ignored the hug from De Gea? My Manager."

antonio borez said: "Wants to join Mikel and sit on the bench."

MidNyte said: "I think De Gea wanted a hug."

Sezdaboss said: "6:48 De Gea wanting a hug. Arteta nope."
