Arsenal fans noticed what Mauro Icardi's wife posted on Instagram amid Aubameyang swap rumours

Mauro Icardi's wife has set tongues wagging with a post on Instagram, amid reports that her husband could be on his way to Arsenal this summer.

According to Tuttosport, Inter Milan could offer Icardi in a part-exchange deal to sign Arsenal striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang.

The Arsenal captain's future at the Emirates is uncertain, with his contract expiring at the end of next season.

And the Gunners could be forced to sell him this summer if there is no progress on a new deal.

With the coronavirus pandemic hitting clubs hard financially, there is a general consensus that extortionate transfer fees will be unlikely in the upcoming transfer window.

Free transfers and swap deals could be more commonplace for clubs, and the report claims that Inter could look to land long-term target Aubameyang through the latter.

Some eagle-eyed Arsenal supporters took to social media after Icardi's wife, Wanda, posted a picture of their son on Instagram wearing a Gunners shirt.

One fan tweeted: 'His son knows ball,' while another posted: 'That's crazy.'

The Argentine has spent the season on loan at Paris Saint-Germain, netting 20 goals in 31 appearances for the Ligue 1 giants.

Inter Milan vice president Javier Zanetti recently admitted that he doesn't think Icardi will be back with the Serie A side next season.

That is despite Icardi's wife and agent reportedly telling PSG that they intended to return to Italy this summer, as reported by the Daily Mail.

"I don't know, I don't think so," Zanetti told ESPN. "But right now we're not talking about the transfer market, the most important thing is health. Then we'll have time to think about it."
