Arsenal fans noticed what Kieran Tierney did to Bukayo Saka after agreeing new contract

Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney had a Friday to remember for a couple of reasons.

Ahead of making his return to the Scotland lineup for their Euro 2020 clash against England at Wembley Stadium, it was revealed that the left-back had agreed a new contract at the Emirates Stadium.

football.london understands the 24-year-old will officially put pen-to-paper in the coming days and the deal will keep him at Arsenal until 2026.

A £25m signing from Celtic in the summer of 2019, Tierney has certainly proved to be worth every penny and has even been tipped to captain the side one day by Gunners manager Mikel Arteta.

"I think he can be Arsenal captain as he has the respect and admiration of every member of the staff and every player," the Spaniard said. "It is just the way he is. He does it in a natural way.

"He is a really shy boy as well but he represents all of us in the club; all of the values that we want to instill and are in the DNA in this club."

Shortly after the contract announcement, Tierney turned in a superb display as Scotland held England to a goalless draw which keeps their hopes of reaching the last-16 stage alive.

But as impressive as he was at Wembley, there was a moment at the final whistle that delighted some Arsenal fans even more.

As seen in the image below via Arsenal Reddit, Tierney went over to embrace club teammate Bukayo Saka after the game.

The Gunners' no.7 was denied an on-pitch reunion with the Scot as he was left out of the England matchday squad alongside Kyle Walker and potential future teammate in Ben White.

But as the image shows, nothing was going to stop the Arsenal duo from sharing a nice moment.

Next up for Tierney is a clash against Croatia, whilst Saka will be hopeful of earning a recall to the Three Lions' squad against the Czech Republic.
