'Agent Jorginho' - Arsenal fans love what Mikel Arteta did long before win against Chelsea

It was a good night for Arsenal as they defeated London rivals Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last night.

The Gunners kept their hopes of qualifying for the UEFA Conference League alive by moving within a point of Tottenham, who have played a game fewer, with a 1-0 victory over London rivals Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal had to ride their luck at times with the home side missing a one-on-one early on and hitting the bar twice later in the game, but they left with all three points thanks to Emile Smith Rowe's winner.

And Smith Rowe got more than a helping handing the goal, which arose from a huge mistake from Chelsea midfielder Jorginho.

The Italy international sent a wayward pass, missing Kepa Arrizabalaga in the goal and forcing the Spaniard to scurry back and claw the ball off the line.

But despite Kepa's best efforts, Arsenal took the lead when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang followed up and cut the ball back for Smith Rowe, who did the rest.

Understandably, Arsenal fans were delighted to see their side score the winner against the Blues for a first victory at Stamford Bridge since 2011, and it did not go unnoticed among Gunners supporters that the Chelsea midfielder was involved in the goal.

Indeed, it sparked conversations among Arsenal fans on social media, particularly given how Jorginho was linked with their club last summer, and after a picture from last season's clash in west London resurfaced, when Arteta embraced the Chelsea midfielder.

Here's what some fans have had to say on Reddit.

Weird-Arabian - "Agent Jorginho."

DigoSilva19 - "I mean, we were linked with him last summer, is about to happen."

MirrorStare - "He'll bring the best out of Partey next season."

Danmac0917 - "Chelsea fans will be fuming loooooool."

Distressedmaul - "We'll be offering him a 3 year deal to replace Xhaka with a performance like that."

Thoushaltpass45 - "Do we count this as his first assist?"

Teoretisk - "Give him a 3-year contract."

Arsenal08reading - "Is he eligible? ex chelsea player, a bit error prone, but he's still under 30 so we might need to wait a few years to sign him on a free."
