Arsenal fans noticed what Gabriel Magalhaes did before Jamie Vardy's winner

Arsenal fans have noticed an interesting incident in the lead up to Jamie Vardy's goal this evening.

Vardy scored the winner for Leicester City on what was a frustrating evening for the Gunners who have now suffered consecutive defeats following last weekend's loss to Manchester City.

The Foxes striker's goal means he has now scored 11 goals in his last 12 games against the Gunners, but could the goal have been stopped?

Eager-eyed Arsenal fans believe Shkodran Mustafi - who came on for the injured David Luiz - should have done better to defend the Leicester goal which came from a Cengiz Under cross, Jamie Vardy making a bullet run into the box to head home.

In the lead up to the goal, Gabriel Magalhaes appeared to call over Mustafi to pick up Vardy with the former heading across to help cut out the cross from Under who had escaped his man.

But Mustafi wasn't exactly in a rush to mark Vardy, strolling a little slowly towards the former England striker who, of course, left his 'marker' in the dust.

The incident has seen Mustafi come under criticism from Arsenal fans but he may not have been the only one to blame.

It could be argued that Gabriel should have held his position a little better to make sure Vardy was marked, the Brazilian sprinting a little hopelessly out of position and making it a little too easy for Under to pick out Vardy in the box.

One way or another, the goal meant Arsenal suffered their second defeat in as many weeks, leaving them on nine points from their first six league games.

The Gunners are now in 10th place ahead of their clash with another top four hopeful in Manchester United next weekend.

Though, not before a Europa League clash with Irish outfit Dundalk on Thursday evening.
