Arsenal fans noticed what Erik Lamela did in the Emirates Stadium tunnel after being sent-off

Erik Lamela had an eventful north London derby at the weekend, to say the least.

Despite not being named in the Tottenham Hotspur starting XI, the Argentine still managed to have a massive impact at the Emirates Stadium - for the right and wrong reasons.

Introduced to proceedings in the 19th minute as a substitute for the injured Son Heung-min, Lamela almost immediately managed to get under the skin of Arsenal duo David Luiz and Granit Xhaka.

And he would have silenced Gunners fans watching from home when he broke the deadlock with a sublime finish as he turned Lucas Moura's poor pass into an assist by producing a 'rabona' to guide the ball past Bernd Leno.

However, Lamela went from hero to zero as he was sent off in the second half for two bookable offences.

The incident that lead to the Argentine's second yellow card happened right in front of Jose Mourinho - and it is safe to say the Spurs boss was far from happy.

Kieran Tierney was caught by Lamela's elbow, and referee Michael Oliver had no choice other than to send the attacking midfielder down the tunnel and thus left the Lilywhites with a mountain to climb.

But, as spotted by @77bumpy and uploaded to Twitter by @Naif63062887, Lamela did not head down the Emirates Stadium straight away.

As seen in the tweet above, Lamela stuck around long enough to see Spurs denied an equaliser when Harry Kane's goal was, correctly, ruled out for offside.

What has amused Arsenal fans from the clip - that can be found at around the 6.58-minute mark on the 'Bench Cam' video uploaded to YouTube - is the fact that Lamela's celebration is cut short.

@AFC__CAL tweeted a video with a caption that reads: "Unluckeeeee."

@louisknowsball said: "Lmaooooo."
