Arsenal confirmed their first signing of the summer transfer window on Friday as Mikel Arteta looks to shape his squad ahead of the new season.
Former Chelsea winger Willian joined the club on a free transfer, having reached an agreement on a three-year deal with the Gunners.
But Arteta will be keen to add more attacking flair to his lineup, with the FA Cup victory ensuring that Arsenal will again play in Europe in 2020/21.
One player to be linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium early in the window was Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele, with reports that the Catalan side are ready to cash in on the forward.
The 23-year-old is a former teammate of Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, with the duo having played together at Borussia Dortmund.
Le10 football claimed that Aubameyang again dreams of playing with the winger, with him keen to see his former teammate join the Gunners this summer.
And his social media activity suggests that that could be the case.
Arsenal fan Renato spotted that the striker ‘liked’ a tweet that included a video of the 11 assists that Dembele provided for Aubameyang during their time together at Dortmund.
The tweet also asks the question “Should Arsenal be in for a move for the winger?”
Dembele is said to be available for a price of around £44.5 million after a difficult season at the Nou Camp.
The forward has made just five La Liga appearances for Barcelona this season with his last game coming in November before suffering a serious hamstring injury.
