Arsenal fans name their price amid talk of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Barcelona transfer

The January transfer window hasn't been closed for a week, yet Arsenal are facing more speculation surrounding Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's future.

Last month there was talk of the Gunners captain joining Barcelona.

An injury to Luiz Suarez meant the La Liga giants were on the lookout for a new centre-forward and Goal reported that they were eyeing an audacious loan move for the Gabon international ahead of deadline day.

Arsenal transfer window verdict

But much to the relief of supporters as well as Mikel Arteta, no such move materialised.

However, Aubameyang's days at the Emirates Stadium could be numbered as the Daily Mail claim he could leave in the summer transfer window with Barcelona still interested.

In addition, the report states that Arteta wants to get the club's summer business done before the start of Euro 2020.

Naturally this rumour has sparked a massive reaction from Arsenal supporters on social media as many appear to be contemplating for life without Aubameyang.

What is perhaps surprising is that some fans have made peace with the 30-year-old leaving for Spain and are setting valuations as well as asking prices for Barcelona to meet.

This rumour comes hot on the heels of Barcelona sporting director Eric Abidal admitting the club's interest in Aubameyang.

"I know him (Aubameyang). He has a profile that has depth. He is important, and in his team he is decisive," Abidal told Spanish outlet Sport. "It is good to bring this profile of player who can be in the market and can help you. We'll see what will happen.

"It is logical that in summer a 'nine' will come. It is a necessity. We know that Suarez will come back strong, but you have to bring a top player in the summer."
