Arsenal fans name the three players to surprise the Premier League and one has already delivered

Arsenal have been relatively busy in this summer’s transfer window so far as they prepare for the new season.

Mikel Arteta has brought in Willian, Dani Ceballos, Cedric Soares and Gabriel Magalhaes so far this summer, as the Gunners look to close the gap between eighth and the top four.

There could be a new central defensive partnership between Gabriel and William Saliba - who has arrived at the Emirates Stadium following his loan at French side Saint-Etienne.

Gabriel has been voted as the player most likely to be the Gunners’ “surprise package” for the upcoming season, in a survey conducted by Reach PLC.

33% of those Arsenal supporters voted for the Brazilian central defender, with Ainsley Maitland-Niles finishing a close-second on 31%, and Willian on 30%.

Arteta: Arsenal's squad balance is not ideal

Two of the club’s new signings have been tipped to flourish in north London in their opening season with the Gunners, and 54% of the people asked have described themselves as happy with the side’s transfer business so far.

However, 24% of the supporters are not satisfied with Arsenal’s dealings so far - but the club are continually being linked with new faces.

Of those 24%, some may be concerned with the Gunners’ midfield options - with that overwhelmingly being the biggest cause for concern amongst the supporters questioned.

A huge 60% voted for the midfield as the biggest concern going into the new season for Arteta’s side, with 21% going for who makes up the defence.

It was a strong end to the season for Arteta’s side, who eventually finished 10 points off Manchester United, who occupied the final Champions League place.

That is clearly the aim for the Gunners for the upcoming season - to finish in the top four - and that’s where 66% of Arsenal supporters have tipped them to do.

15% have predicted a successful title charge for the London-based club, with 12% believing another Europa League finish could be the reality.
