Arsenal fans make William Saliba transfer point after Ben White performance vs Burnley

Some Arsenal fans took to social media to voice their frustrations despite their victory over Burnley.

The Gunners won their first Premier League away match of the season thanks to a sublime first-half free-kick from Norway captain Martin Odegaard.

The 22-year-old delightfully curled the ball into the top corner after Bukayo Saka had been brought down following a tricky run through the heart of the Burnley midfield.

The second half was an end-to-end affair but both sides struggled to finish their chances, with the scoreline finishing 1-0.

However, it was the Clarets who came closest to scoring after they were awarded a penalty just after the hour mark when Aaron Ramsdale was adjudged to have brought down Matej Vydra in the area, a decision that was eventually overturned as the English shot-stopper clearly got a foot on the ball.

The former Sheffield United no.1 was put under pressure after summer signing Ben White sent a sloppy pass back to his 'keeper.

White impressed in his aerial duels, winning five out of the six he faced but looked uncharacteristically shaky on the ball, losing possession on 12 occasions at Turf Moor.

After the England international's mistake, some Arsenal fans took to Twitter to criticise Mikel Arteta for his decision to send fellow centre-half William Saliba out on loan this season.

@JoshJnr14: "Saliba is better than this White guy."

@wavygooner: "Saliba is far far better than Ben White. Why we gifted Brighton £50M I will never understand."

@KingLafs: "Arteta should issue a public apology to Saliba."

@Nnamaniac: "Arsenal really wasted money on Ben White when Saliba was home lol."

@GurjitAFC: "Ben White needs to stop being so casual."
