Arsenal fans make same Mikel Arteta joke after loss to Man City

Manchester City defeated Arsenal 3-0 at the Emirates this afternoon and despite not taking to the pitch, Mikel Arteta was always going to be a big talking point.

Arteta is not only a former Arsenal player but an assistant at City who has been heavily linked with the vacant permanent manager position at the Gunners.

The Spaniard watched on this afternoon as his current team built up an unassailable half-time lead thanks to a brace from Kevin de Bruyne and Raheem Sterling's goal before winning the game 3-0.

It left Arsenal fans in somewhat despair after seeing how far away their side is from a Man City team who have not been that impressive this season in the Premier League after back to back domestic titles.

But the biggest issue that Arsenal fans were commenting on post-match was Arteta and what he will be thinking amid those Arsenal next manager rumours.

Freddie Ljungberg took over from Unai Emery in November after the latter was sacked by the club. Whilst Ljungberg has enjoyed some brief good moments, Sunday showed the work that has to be done at Arsenal and why they need a more experienced manager to come in.

Most Arsenal fans, though, were left making the same joke about how Arteta will probably be ruling himself out of the race to replace Emery after watching the Gunners in the capital.
