Arsenal fans make January transfer demand as Thomas Partey's perfect midfield partner identified

With the January transfer window opening in four days' time, the rumour mill is set to go into overdrive.

Arsenal are set to be particularly active in the market, with Mikel Arteta's men struggling in 15th place in the Premier League table.

The Gunners did pick up a much-needed three points against London rivals Chelsea on Boxing Day, with Arteta handing a number of youngsters the chance to shine against the Blues.

While the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Emile Smith Rowe impressed though, Arteta will be keen to bolster his ranks during the January transfer window to try and climb the table and get away from trouble at the foot of the table.

January is not a window in which the Gunners are usually that busy, however, needs must this season with Arsenal set to be active.

Arsenal have been lacking goals so far during this campaign, with a lack of creativity as well as the inability to hit the back of the net.

The Gunners shelled out £45million on Thomas Partey during the extended summer transfer window and Arsenal fans believe they have found the perfect partner for the Ghanaian in the middle of the park.

Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma has attracted the interest of Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal amongst others this season, although there has been no concrete offers for him yet.

Seagulls boss Graham Potter told our friends at Sussex Live: "No approaches [for Bissouma],.

"My focus is on helping him improve and I feel he has still got some improvement to do, so that’s my focus to help him reach his full potential. He has got some work to do yet, so that’s what we are focusing on.

“It doesn’t help to listen to the noise. I think Yves [Bissouma] has taken some steps and he has improved, but he has still got some improvement to do and that’s where the work is and the focus for us.

“I think he has had to develop into his role and learn some aspects of the game and improve in certain areas. But it is credit to him that he has done that and it means he can help us in that area. But I think he can still improve, which is good.”

Bissouma enjoyed another fine performance against West Ham on Sunday, as the Seagulls drew 2-2, with Arsenal fans demanding the club make a move for him in January.

It remains to be seen whether or not Bissouma will be a Brighton player come the start of February.

But if Arsenal are in the market for him, they will have to fend off stiff competition for hs signature.
