Arsenal fans love what happened between Gabriel and Gabriel Martinelli as camera captures moment

Arsenal's hopes of playing European football next season are alive.

And Gabriel Martinelli is a big reason for that as he climbed off the bench to restore the Gunners' lead against Crystal Palace on Wednesday evening, before Nicolas Pepe sealed a 3-1 win.

As a result, Arsenal go into the final game of the Premier League season knowing a win over Brighton and Hove Albion could see them finish seventh in the table.

That will be enough to seal a spot in the newly-created Europa Conference League competition for next season, but only if Tottenham and Everton fail to beat Leicester City and Manchester City respectively.

Whether the Gunners are able to grab the European football lifeline remains to be seen, but some fans are still reacting to the 3-1 win over Palace.

In particular, a moment between Martinelli and his compatriot Gabriel Magalhaes.

As spotted in Arsenal's 'Access All Areas' behind the scenes video of the London derby at Selhurst Park uploaded to their YouTube page, the pair embraced after the teenager's goal.

But some eagle-eyed Arsenal fans on Reddit noticed something rather quirky about the embrace as Martinelli's full name was spelled out across the names on the back of both players' shirts.

Cairo Coutinho said: "Why couldn’t they be standing the other side of each other?"

GBCrush said: "Photos like this always make me happy for our team. We should be happy together!"

GreaterThanThanos said: "Arsenal's future."

Following Martinelli's impact at Selhurst Park, Arteta admitted the Brazilian was nearing regular starts under him.

"Very close and he needs to keep fighting to be closer and closer," Arteta said afterwards. "We need to understand where the boys are and the phase of their development, what they have done this season and last season.

"I know that we want to play with 11 academy players and all under 20, but guys, who is doing that? I think we’ve done it more than anybody.

"They’re going to have their chances and they’re earning their chances, we’re not just giving the chances they're earning them, absolutely earning their chances and it’s a joy to have them in this club."
